Member Services

As the SIX.SI operator, ARNES provides members the following basic conditions and advanced tools for traffic exchange.

Infrastructure

Connection to SIX.SI is possible at two locations which are fully redundant, interconnected with two 100 Gb/s links. Both locations have Mellanox switches with ports for Small Form-Factor pluggables which support the following connection speeds:

10 Gb/s

100 Gb/s

In prior agreement with ARNES each member may also connect to SIX.SI by having aggregated (802.3ad LACP) Ethernet ports of the same connection speed.

Available ports for each supported connection speed are limited or they may be already all in use so the final connection speed for a SIX.SI member is agreed on by case.

    Both locations (data centres) provide:

    • Redundant air-conditioning system
    • Redundant power supply with backup diesel generator
    • Active fire-protection system
    • Security guards, access control system, video surveillance
    • Access to the data centre with at least one working day’s advance notice to ARNES
    • Presence of several optical infrastructure providers

Each SIX.SI member is allocated an IPv4 and IPv6 address for both locations with included reverse DNS record.

For private peering (Closed User Groups) you can use VLAN id from range 3900-4000.

    Tools and services
